关系副词在定语从句中起副词或介词短语的作用，指代表示时间、地点、原因、方式意义的名词，在从句中充当时间、地点、原因、方式状语。

关系副词	句中成分	指代的先行词	例句
when	时间状语	表示时间的名词	There are occasions when （on which） one must yield.
where	地点状语	表示地点的名词	This is the factory where （in which） my father once worked.
why	原因状语	reason	This is the reason why（for which）he was late.

【例1】We live in a time ______， more than ever before in history， people are moving.

【解析】定语从句people are moving不缺少主谓宾，所以用关系副词引导。先行词表示的是时间，所以关系词用when.

【解析】本题先行词表示的是状况，可以用关系副词where引导从句。
